Privacy statement

This page explains which personal details we use when you visit this website or contact us, why we use them and what your rights are. Last updated: 8 October 2026.

1. Who we are

Mama Africa is a concept of LITT Events V.O.F., Prinsegracht 12, 2512 GA Den Haag, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 65499786. LITT Events is responsible for the personal details described on this page.

Questions about your privacy? Email us at info@littevents.nl.

2. What we use and why

When you send us a message. The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a topic and your message. We use these only to answer you and, for booking requests, to prepare an offer. Your message is stored in our website and sent by email to our team. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in answering questions, and for bookings because it is needed before we can make an agreement with you.

To keep spam out, the form counts how many messages come from the same internet address (IP address). For this we keep a scrambled version of your IP address for no longer than one hour.

When you visit the website. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, such as the IP address, the time and the page requested. We use these records only to keep the website safe and to solve problems. The login page is protected against break-in attempts, which involves checking the IP addresses of people who try to log in.

Statistics and advertising, only with your permission. If you accept marketing cookies in the cookie banner, we load Google Tag Manager. Through it we may use measurement and advertising tools from Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Snapchat to see how the website is used and to show our events to people who may like them. If you do not give permission, these tools are not loaded.

When you buy a ticket. We do not sell tickets on this website. Ticket buttons take you to a ticket shop, such as Weeztix or CM.com, or to the venue. We add a short label to that link so the ticket shop can see that you came from our website. The label says nothing about who you are. The ticket shop has its own privacy statement for your order and payment.

Newsletter and community. If you sign up for our newsletter, we use the details you fill in only to send you news about our events. The sign-up form is provided by Google Forms. You can unsubscribe at any time. Our community group runs on WhatsApp. If you join, other members can see your phone number and profile name, and the WhatsApp privacy policy applies.

Photos and videos of our events. We take photos and videos at our events and share them on this website and on social media, as described in our terms and conditions. Do you see a photo of yourself that you would like removed? Email us the link and we will take it down as soon as we can.

3. Content from other services

Some parts of this website are delivered by other companies. When your browser loads them, that company receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, because that is how the internet works.

  • YouTube (Google). A video only loads when you press play, and we use YouTube’s privacy-friendly mode. The preview pictures of the videos come from YouTube’s servers.
  • Spotify. The music player only loads after you accept marketing cookies.
  • Picflow. Our photo albums are stored at and loaded from Picflow.

4. Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies that are needed to make it work. Cookies for statistics, advertising and the music player are only placed after you give permission in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this website. Our cookie policy explains which cookies are used and what they do.

5. Who we share details with

We never sell your details. We only share them with companies that help us run this website and our communication: our hosting provider TransIP in the Netherlands, Automattic (the Jetpack security and connection service of our website software), our email provider, and the services named above. Some of these companies are based outside the European Union, for example in the United States. In that case your details are protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by standard contract terms approved by the European Commission.

6. How long we keep details

  • Messages sent through the contact form: no longer than 12 months after we have answered them.
  • Booking requests that lead to an agreement: as long as needed for the booking. Invoices are kept for 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
  • Technical records of visits: for a short period set by our hosting provider.

7. Your rights

You can ask us which details we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete them, to limit their use or to send them to you or to another organisation. You can object to our use of your details, and you can withdraw a permission you gave earlier. Send your request to info@littevents.nl. We answer within one month and may ask you to show that the request really comes from you.

Not happy with how we handle your details? Please tell us first, so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch privacy regulator, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. Security and changes

This website uses a secure connection, and only the people in our team who need your details can see them. We may update this statement when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
